The US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit ruled 3-0 to uphold the Biden administration's 2024 National Ambient Air Quality Standards for PM2.5, tiny particles linked to adverse health effects, which tightened the annual limit from 12 to 9 micrograms per cubic meter, according to Bloomberg.

The Trump administration's EPA had switched its position from defending the standards to seeking their removal, the report said.

The agency is reviewing the decision, Bloomberg report, citing a spokesperson.
