The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector index was posting a 0.5% increase, while the Dow Jones US Utilities index was shedding 0.6%.

Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 0.2% to $83.74 a barrel while the global benchmark Brent crude contract added 0.4% to $89.33 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures tumbled 1.5% to $1.61 per 1 million BTU.

In corporate news, TotalEnergies (TTE) Chief Executive Patrick Pouyanne said the company is considering a primary stock listing in the US. The board indicated the move "makes sense," given the company's increasing US shareholders, Pouyanne said Friday on the Q1 earnings call, according to a transcript from Capital IQ. TotalEnergies shares rose 1.5%.
