Liquefied natural gas prices in East Asia rose US$0.61 to US$12.07/MMBtu, the EIA reported, citing data from Bloomberg Finance. Title Transfer Facility natural gas prices in Europe also climbed US$0.27 to US$11.82/MMBtu.

U.S. natural gas supply increased by 1.2% on higher average net imports from Canada, the EIA said, citing data from S&P Global Commodity Insights.

U.S. natural gas consumption also surged 5.7%, data from Commodity Insights showed, as warmer spring temperatures across the Southeast and Texas boosted natural gas use for power generation, the agency reported.

Net additions to gas storage amounted to 120 billion cubic feet for the week ended May 16, resulting in total working gas stocks of 2,375 Bcf. This week marks the fourth straight week of additions to gas stocks of 100 Bcf or greater, according to the EIA.
