Liquefied natural gas prices in East Asia rose US$0.14 to US$12.43/MMBtu while Title Transfer Facility natural gas prices in Europe gained US$0.24 to US$11.99/MMBtu, the EIA said, citing data from Bloomberg Finance.

The U.S. natural gas supply increased 0.5% on higher net imports from Canada, the agency reported, citing data from S&P Global Commodity Insights.

U.S. natural gas consumption rose 3.2%, Commodity Insights data showed, as power generation use jumped amid warmer weather but residential and commercial sector use declined.

Net additions to natural gas storage amounted to 109 billion cubic feet in the week ended June 6, resulting in total working gas stocks of 2,707 Bcf, the EIA said. This was 139 Bcf more than the five-year average and 256 Bcf lower than the year-ago period. The injection also marks the seventh in a row that is above 100 Bcf, the longest streak since 2014, the agency noted.
