Liquefied natural gas prices in East Asia rose US$0.07 to US$13.17/MMBtu, the EIA reported, citing data from Bloomberg Finance. Natural gas prices at the Title Transfer Facility in Europe also increased US$0.01 to US$12.79/MMBtu.

U.S. natural gas supply edged 0.4% higher on the week, driven by a small increase in net imports from Canada, the agency said.

U.S. natural gas demand rose 3.1% from the previous week, the EIA said, citing data from S&P Global Commodity Insights. Consumption in the residential and commercial sectors jumped 47.6%, driving the week-over-week increase.

Net injections into gas storage amounted to 76 billion cubic feet (Bcf) for the week ended Oct. 11, resulting in total working gas stocks of 3,705 Bcf, the EIA reported. That was 163 Bcf more than the five-year average and 107 Bcf more than the year-ago period.
