US Crude Stockpiles Rise by 6.2 Million Barrels in Week Ending March 13, EIA Says

Crude oil inventories, including the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, were at 864.7 million barrels, which was 3.8% above a year ago. Excluding the SPR, they were at 449.3 million barrels, "about 1% below the five year average for this time of year," the EIA said.

Crude oil stockpiles in the SPR were at 415.4 million barrels in the week, or 4.9% above a year ago.

Total motor gasoline was down 5.4 million barrels, at 244.0 million barrels, up 1.4% from a year ago and about 3% above the five-year average, the EIA said.

Total distillate fuel oil was at 116.9 million barrels, down 2.5 million barrels from the previous week but up 1.8% from a year ago, and 3% below the five-year average, the EIA said.

Refineries operated at 91.4% of their capacity, the EIA added.
